Refund policy

It is very important to us that you receive the right product in the right condition.  We work directly with our suppliers to handle returns.

Our vendors are not large corporations with dedicated return departments.  Most of our vendors are small, family-owned businesses.  Please be patient as we all work through the return process.

Due to the nature of the businesses we work with, Made by Main Street and our associated vendors do not sell "buy-it-to-try-it" products.  All sales are final, unless the product you received is: 

  • not what you ordered; or
  • damaged or defective.

All of our vendors strive to deliver the correct product in excellent condition. If the product you received fits one of the exceptions listed above, you have 7 days after receiving your item to request a return.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be received by the vendor in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging.

To start a return, you will need to contact us at returns@madebymainstreet.com.  In the email you will need to include all of the following:

  • Your full name, contact email, contact phone, and home address, and
  • The receipt or proof of purchase, and
  • Photo(s) that clearly show:
    • The reason for the return request; and
    • The product in its original packaging, and
  • A written description of the reason for your return request, and
  • Whether you are requesting an exchange or refund.

Made by Main Street will forward the return request to the vendor, who has final approval of the return.

If your return is accepted, you will receive a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. 

Items sent back to either Made by Main Street or to the vendor without first receiving written approval will not be accepted and refunds (including shipping reimbursement) will not be issued.  No exceptions.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can help evaluate the issue and make it right.

Some damage may occur during shipping.  If this is the case, the shipping provider may be responsible. It is your responsibility to report damage from shipping to the shipping provider and seek financial restitution.

Made by Main Street and our vendors are not responsible for damage that may occur due to the shipper's handling of the package.

Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned, like perishable goods (such as food, flowers, or plants), custom products (such as special orders or personalized items), and personal care goods (such as beauty products). We also do not accept returns for hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item. 

We do not accept returns on gift cards or items purchased on sale (when the original price is discounted; does not refer to membership discounts).

Exchanges
Exchanges are allowed. Once the returned item is received, inspected, and approved by the vendor, you may request a replacement of the same product purchased, rather than a refund of your money.  Exchanges for a different item than the one originally purchased are not allowed.

Under no conditions will an exchange be issued without the vendor receiving, inspecting, and verifying your return. 

Under no conditions will an exchange be issued for an item that has shipped from the vendor and is still in transit.

Refunds
We will notify you once the vendor has received, inspected, and verified your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you will be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days.

Under no conditions will a refund be issued without the vendor receiving, inspecting, and verifying your return. 

Under no conditions will a refund be issued for an item that has shipped from the vendor and is still in transit.

Please remember it can take many days for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund.  If more than 15 business days have passed since your return was approved, please contact us at returns@madebymainstreet.com.

European Union 14 day cooling off period
Notwithstanding the above, if the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without a justification. As above, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
